2008 Parade Information

This years Long Beach Veterans Day Parade promises to be better than ever. From the Grand Marshal to our line of march, there will be something for everyone. Make sure you mark your calendars for Saturday, November 8, 2008 as the City of Long Beach plays host to Southern California's best known Veterans Day Parade.

Col. Anita Eigner Latin

Colonel Anita Eigner Latin is the Commander, 61st Air Base Wing, Los Angeles Air Force Base, CA. The wing provides personnel, administration, engineering, medical, communications, computer, security, logistics, and quality-of-life services to over 3,600 military and civilian employees of the Space and Missile Systems Center who equip the US and allied forces with on-orbit satellites and space launch vehicles.

Angela Madsen
Para Olympics Champion

Angela Madsen is a 48 year old Grandmother of three from Long Beach, CA who loves to surf. She is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a life member of both the Disabled American Veterans and the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Angela also enjoys working with newly injured vets to get them involved with adaptive sports. In February of 2003, the Amateur Athletic Foundation named Angela as a recipient of the Women Who Inspire Us Award; in September of 2003, she received the Leo Reilly, Jr. Award for outstanding spirit and determination. On February 7, 2008, she became the first Differently-Abled woman to ROW across the Atlantic Ocean. Her rowing partner, Franck Festor, an amputee from France, did not speak English and Angela does not speak French.

COL Lisa Costanza
California Army National Guard

COL Lisa Costanza joined the California Army National Guard in November 1981 as PFC Costanza, 72E, teletype operator. In 1986 she went to the California Military Accademy and was commissioned a 2LT in August 1987. As a chemical officer, Costanza served as Operations Officer, Platoon Leader, NBCC Element Director and Brigade (40th DISCOM) Chemical Officer.

She was selected to be a battalion S4 for the 240th Signal Battalion which mandated a brance transfer to Signal Corps. Then in 1994 she commanded HHD, DET-3 STARC (Los Alamitos).

Chief Warrant Officer Dave Kean
United States Army

Chief Warrant Officer Dave Kean took a Military Leave of Absence from the Long Beach Fire Department and joined the US Army in 1987. After completing flight school, he was assigned as a UH-60 Blackhawk Pilot and Aviation Safety Officer.

In 2003, Kean served as a Division Safety Officer with the 4th Infantry Division in Tikrit, Iraq. In 2006-07, he served with the 1-17th Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division in Mosul, Iraq.

CWO Kean returned to work as a Battalion Chief for the Operations Bureau at the Long Beach Fire Department on September 1.

CWO Kean has been married to his wife Koreen for 10 years and has two daughters, Jenna and Ashlee.

Cal Worthington
WWII Veteran


Calvin Coolidge Worthington was born in Bly, Oklahoma, in 1920. Cal was one of nine children.

During World War II, "Cal" Worthington was a bomber pilot. He flew twenty-nine (29) combat missions, piloting a B-17 with the 8th. Air Force.

He is a five-time recipient of the Air Medal and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Following his World War II service he went into auto sales. Mr. Worthington has been an auto dealer in the Long Beach area for fifty-eight years. He currently owns Worthington Ford in Long Beach as well as numerous other dealerships in California and Alaska. He is widely known for his, "My dog Spot" commercials.

Captain Kip Louttit
United States Coast Guard


Captain J. Kipling Louttit has served in a variety of afloat and shore assignments on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, Alaska and Hawaii. He is currently Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Integrated Support Command San Pedro on Terminal Island, which is home to 16 Coast Guard units and supports more than 2,000 Coast Guard people and 40 Coast Guard units from Morro Bay to San Diego, and in Southern Nevada and Arizona.
