Parade History

The History of the Long Beach Vietnam Veterans Day Parade

Twelve years ago , the city councilman for the ninth district, city of Long Beach formed a committee and launched the now Annual Long Beach Veterans Day Parade. Each year, on the Saturday just prior to Veterans Day, Atlantic Blvd, is the site where you will see American flags waving, proud veterans and families of veterans, marching bands, military units and entrants from all over SouthernCalifornia honoring veterans from all eras and all branches of the Armed Forces. Each year the parade has gotten bigger and better. This year, November 8, 2008, will mark the twelve annual Long Beach Veterans Day Parade and celebration. The day's activities include the parade followed by a special ceremony honoring veterans.
